Three steps. Zero setup.
Screen, camera, mic, system audio — one switch each.
A 3-second countdown and you're recording. Pause anytime.
Saved as a normal file. Share it however you like — or with a link, if you turn on Grabi Cloud.
No account. No scenes. No manual.
Everything you need. Nothing in the way.
One switch per source. Combine them any way.
Screen, camera, microphone and system audio. Screen only, screen + face, voice only — you decide with four switches. No scenes, no mixers.
Circle, square or rectangle. Wherever you say.
Drag your camera to any corner, resize it from the corners and change its shape live — before and during the recording.
The whole screen, one window, or just a slice.
Choose what shows: the full screen, a single app (everything else doesn't exist), or an exact region you draw yourself.
Sharp up to 4K. Still free.
Two modes, done: Standard for light sharing, Sharp up to 4K for tutorials where every pixel counts. Neither is behind a paywall.
Pause, resume and stop — without hunting for the window.
A minimal floating pill (that never shows up in your video) and global shortcuts to control everything without interrupting what you're showing.
Made for explaining things.
Record the lesson once, share it a thousand times. Your face and your screen, together.
Show the steps instead of writing them. An exact region, zero noise.
A two-minute video saves the thirty-minute meeting. Record it and paste it in the chat.
Up to 4K with no watermark: from clip to feed, exactly as you recorded it.
Compare without fine print.

Being honest: Screen Studio edits beautifully and Loom has polished its cloud for years. Grabi has a different focus — recording well, free and private, and sharing by link only if you want to (Grabi Cloud is optional). If what you need is an editor, those apps are good choices.
An app that sees your screen has to earn your trust.
And while you record, the ● REC badge is always visible — Grabi never records without you seeing it.
Open, because trust is verified.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes: the app is free forever, with every recording feature and no watermark. The only paid thing is Grabi Cloud, the optional link-sharing service — and it has a free plan too.
Are there limits or a watermark?
No. Record as many hours as you want, at any quality, and the video comes out clean — no watermark, ever.
Do I need an account?
No. Download the app, open it, record. No sign-up, no email, no sales onboarding.
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 13 Ventura or later. System audio uses the native macOS 13+ API — that's why it's the minimum.
Does it run on Apple Silicon and Intel?
Yes, it's a universal binary: native on both, same ~3 MB installer.
What about Windows or Linux?
You can already record from the browser on Windows, Linux or a Chromebook with Grabi Cloud, nothing to install. The native app was born on macOS; we want to reach Windows with the same quality, not a rushed port.
Where are my videos stored?
On your Mac, in the Grabi folder inside Movies (you can change it). Your videos only leave your Mac through Grabi Cloud — our optional service — and only when you tap “Share”.
How big are the recordings?
Roughly 3 GB per hour on Standard quality and 6 GB per hour on Sharp (4K). A 10-minute tutorial is around 500 MB.
Does it record system audio without installing drivers?
Yes. We use the native macOS permission — no virtual audio extensions, no third-party drivers.
How is the project funded?
Donations (Buy Me a Coffee and GitHub Sponsors) and Grabi Cloud Pro — our optional link-sharing service — which keeps the app free, complete and open source. No investors, no ads, no selling data.
Grabi Cloud: share with a link.
Finish recording and get a link ready to paste anywhere. It is optional and only if you choose it: the app stays 100% local, free and account-free forever. Leave your email if you want news about it.
