Changelog

What's new in every release, jargon-free. The important stuff first.

v0.3.2
  • Signing in to Grabi Cloud works now: “Continue with Google” brings your session back to the app, and if something fails the app says so.
  • If you had already signed in on the web, the app picks up that same session without asking.
v0.3.1
  • Grabi is signed and notarized by Apple — no more "app is damaged" warning.
  • Grabi Cloud links open the app instead of the browser, if you have it installed.
  • Sign in with Apple, alongside Google, if you choose to use Grabi Cloud.
  • Coming from the beta: download this one manually once — the app’s internal identity changed and the auto-updater can’t make the jump.
v0.2.1
  • The window no longer burns CPU: the live level meters redraw on their own instead of the whole window.
v0.2.0
  • Leaving the Record tab now really releases the camera, screen and microphone — no camera light left on.
  • Pick your camera and your microphone, including external webcams and USB mics; unplugging one falls back gracefully.
  • Grabi can speak a different language than your Mac, switchable in Settings.
  • Live level meters for the microphone and the system audio.
v0.1.7
  • Lighter while you frame your shot: the camera now runs at the size and speed the preview needs, not full 1080p/30.
v0.1.6
  • Grabi now has a window: a normal Mac app with a Dock icon, menus and one window holding recording, your recordings and settings.
  • Your recordings live in the app: thumbnails, duration and size, with play, show in Finder, copy and delete.
  • Much lighter, and it always opens where you left it — two bugs that made Grabi feel stuck are gone.
v0.1.5
  • Universal app: one binary, native on Apple Silicon and Intel.
  • Smoother first launch: the install guide now covers every macOS warning, including “app is damaged”, with its one-line fix.
v0.1.4
  • Grabi now updates itself: a quiet daily check, and new versions install with one click. This is the last version you download by hand.
  • “Report a problem” in Settings opens a pre-filled report with your app version, macOS and chip — nothing to look up.
v0.1.3
  • Grabi now speaks 5 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German — it follows your Mac's language automatically.
  • Live controls in the pill: mute the microphone or turn the camera off mid-recording (the camera light actually turns off).
  • Thumbnails in the screen & window picker now show up instantly.
v0.1.1
  • New "Sharp" quality: record at your display's native resolution, up to 4K.
  • The selfie box resizes from any corner and moves by dragging from inside.
  • A red border around what's being recorded: you always know what's visible.
v0.1
  • First release: screen, camera, microphone and system audio — any combination, up to 4K.
  • Camera as circle, square or rectangle, movable and resizable live.
  • Gapless pause, floating pill, global shortcuts, and zero accounts.
